1)Stereotypes are always going to be around. We the people can not help it but to stereotype. I know i try my hardest not to but some how one way or another i do it. A Culture that interests me is the Italian culture because i lived there for a year. Italians are constantly stereotyped as violent, ignorant, or somehow associated with the mafia. Being there for a year i know first hand how they are and they are not violent at all. They are extremely funny and fun! I think parents, teachers, and society can do a lot to stop discriminating. As parents they should teach their children to respect all and not stereotype! This is something that we all would have to start from a young age

2)Since i was young i was always called a work horse. But not because i was big and strong but because i would never give up. In sports coaches would love me because i would NEVER stop and i would never let down. I was the hardest worker. And this has effected me in many ways. I try to bring the "work horse" mentality to my everyday life. I try my hardest at everything and i never give up on anything or anyone. It really has made me who i am today.

  1. I agree with what you are proposing to stop discrimination although it could be more detailed. Starting from a young age is the best way to prevent discrimination. You saw first hand that Italians aren't all people say they are, that would be a way to teach kids that stereotypes are wrong.

  2. Good post, Clay. Please proofread your work for mistakes in mechanics. 'I' is always capitalized. Review the differences between affected and effected.
