
1.There are countless stereotypes, both positive and negative, for every ethnic group. For example, one stereotype for the Irish is that they are drunks. Obviously, not all Irish people are drunk since most countries are bound to have drunks. Children should be taught about the contributions that these ethnic groups have made to different facets of life. Learning about what these ethnic groups have contributed will deter the stereotypes that arise from learning about one side of the ethnic group.
2. A label that has been applied to me is "shy". My parents have called me this and so have my teachers. Even my friends , on occasion, have told me I am shy but that's because I don't talk much. I knew I was shy before anyone told me I was, so being called that never bothered me and hasn't had an impact that I have noticed.
